The 16th Clyde Scout Group are the first Muslim scout group in Glasgow, and the third in Scotland. The very first was the Salaam group in Edinburgh (established around 18 years prior), followed by a group in Livingston in the summer of 2024. The 16th Clyde Scouts Group were officially formed on the 7th of October 2024.
Despite facing initial local resistance for over 12 years, the project finally succeeded through perseverance. Today, they are the fastest-growing and largest group in Scotland with over 300 youth and leaders. Notably, they have the highest female participation in Scotland, ranking them among the top 10 largest scout groups in the entire UK.
